English wrestling
The British martial sources we teach at T.A.S. assume wrestling competence. It's not until the early 1700s that we get historical wrestling manuals solely focused on wrestling and/or boxing.
We teach English wrestling based on several works :
Grips from George Silver (1599), wrestling from Zachery Wylde (1711) and The Inn-Play or Cornish Hug Wrestling from Sir Thomas Parkyns (1713).
We mostly teach wrestling as an adjunct to weapons.
